New Pajero will be designed using the basis of GC-PHEV concept model, where the model has been shown to the public at the Tokyo Motor Show, last November 2013.
The production version of the concept model will use a four-cylinder engine in the front, and powered by an electric motor which is positioned at the bottom of the vehicle. The electric motor using lithium-ion batteries.
At low speeds, the New Pajero will run using electric power. Similarly, when on the road off-road situations but in the low speed position. Abundant torque is already available at the run-down, where the electrical system will provide peak torque at zero RPM.
Reportedly, Mitsubishi is currently focused on developing crossovers and SUVs in the future. Two of these models are the backbone of the global Mitsubishi sales.
