Mercedes Benz AMG Prepare Powerful Turbo Power Systems
Jochen Martin Schmidt, Head of Powertrain Development AMG said, with turbo boost that can be found in the lower rounds is set at the same time easy to get fuel efficiency.
"The problem with F1 is the engine working at very high rotation, if you want to move the technology to the production car will not be so great ability at low speeds," said Schmid, in Italy, on Monday (07/07/2014).
F1
Mercedes-Benz F1 team is very dominant in the 2014 season. Eight of the nine series was won racer Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg. Only one failed, when the rider RedBull Racing, Daniel Ricciardo shine in the Canadian GP.
Mercedes-Benz became the first successful team in F1 hybrids era since the new regulation states use a V6 engine, a 1.6L capacity turbocharger plus energy regeneration system. Schmidt believes the lessons of the technology it is possible to improve the working system of future cars.
Others with a focus on generating maximum power from small engines in F1, open more opportunities in the development of production cars. In fact he said at the end of mainstream models will outperform F1 when the time comes.
"We are connected and work together with the technical ideas, assume that someday we could pass some F1 technology in automobile production," Schmidt said.
